About Kideapolis

Kideapolis, Incorporated, founded in 2001, designs and manufactures several specialty lines of wearable blankets for kids and their parents. We actually started off with a focus on juvenile products. Our original idea was called a Cuddle Cape^®, which was a hooded, pocketed fleece and satin blanket designed in the likeness of an animal or fanciful character. The concept was a multi-faceted comfort and entertainment item that children absolutely love for naptime or play. The combined efforts of Sarah Bajc and Tricia Welsh propelled the ideas behind Kideapolis into reality in a very short time.

Within months of opening, an initial product line was designed and samples were introduced. A fully functional wholesale website with shopping cart functions was operational. Sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, marketing and fulfillment resources were secured. Within the first year, three different lines of blankets including 15 unique designs were reaching the eager hands of children all over the Southeast.

Our Cuddle Capes were soon embraced by families with children in different age ranges, particularly those involved in athletics, and we started fielding some interesting questions. "What about my older kids who have outgrown cute characters but still want something soft to wrap up in?" and "These would be great for chilly days at the ball park, do you have anything for adults?"

Hmm…we could make larger capes, perhaps in several sizes. We could keep the pockets but alter the hood to be roomier to accommodate grown up hairstyles. We could add a Velcro neck tab to keep the blanket around the broader shoulders of an adult. Best yet, we could personalize it with team logos, individual names or sayings. The Team Wrap^® was born. Now we had a wearable blanket…with the potential to be marketed in dozens of ways … and we realized that Team Wraps were great for any age or sport or group.

Since the initial introduction of Team Wraps to wholesale buyers by several Sales Representative groups in the fall of 2003, our Team Wrap sales have mushroomed as the initial Team Wrap purchasers have worn their Team Wrap to sporting events around their states. We've expanded our market from traditional Team Sports to Equestrian competitions, RV Camping Clubs, Seniors Organizations and many more.

Many of the same buyers have purchased our Cuddle Capes and Sleep Silkies for baby and children's (or grandchildren's gifts) as well as using them for fundraising at Preschool's and Daycare centers.
